Last Day

Today was the last day at the academy house and at Manchester Tutorial.

We didn't ski this morning because it was raining. However, we had to shovel the snow off Weinstein's porch for the party this weekend. That was no fun.

I had English and History. We came home early because no one had class after 4:00 PM.

Tomorrow we are going to Nationals at Killington to watch Brittany and Troy. It should be a lot of fun. We are leaving at 8:45 AM.

When we get back from Killington, I am going to have to pack all of my stuff up. I am going back to NYC on Sunday. I think that the thing that I will miss most will be skiing everyday. I am looking forward to going home though; I can't wait for Lacrosse practice to start.

More Tennis

Jerret and I played tennis this morning for our warm-up.

We skied with Richie today. It was about 30 degrees today, which meant soft bumps for us. This made for a great day. We also skied some park today, I did some more 720s and Jerret was working on his 360s.

This afternoon I had History and English. Manchester Tutorial was so full this afternoon that I had class down the road in one of the rooms at the bank. However this also meant that I had both of my classes back-to-back. So my day ended at 4PM. This gave me some free time, which I spent taking an English test on Macbeth.

For dinner Mike made philly cheese steaks. They were just okay.

Tomorrow we are skiing with Dee. It will be the first time that Jerret and I have skied with her for two weeks.

Training?

Today Jerret and I played tennis again for our warm-up. We got to the mountain at about 9 AM. It was -10 degrees at the base today. It was a heat wave compared to the Tuesday and Wednesday.

Jerret and I went over to World Cup to see what was left of the jump that we had built over President’s week break. There wasn't much left, it was about the size of a B team air. It was going to take an hour or more to get it back to the way it was. After considering this, Jerret and I decided that it was just too cold today to work on the jump. Instead we skied some park runs and called it a day at 11AM.

Tonight I am staying at my house, instead of the academy house because my mom came up earlier today.

Tennis

For the second day in a row, it was -30 degrees at the base of the mountain. Jerret and I did not ski today. Instead we went to the gym and played tennis, it was a lot of fun. I haven’t played for a while. I think that we are going to do it again tomorrow for our warm-up for about a half hour.

I took a math test today on coordinate geometry. I think I did well on it.

I received an external hard drive from my parents, so that I could store all of my video projects.

Jerret and I are going to watch the new episode of South Park tonight; we are both really stoked about it. I can't wait.

Tomorrow night I am sleeping at my house, because my mom will be up. This weekend my brother is bringing some of his school friends up; it should be fun to hang out with them.

-30 Below Means No

Jerret and I did not ski today, because it was about -30 degrees at the base of Stratton Mountain. Instead we slept in a little bit, and then we went to the gym. Jerret and I went swimming and then I played Lacrosse in one of the racquetball courts. After the gym, Mike drove us back to the house where I did some homework and started a new project for film class.

We went to school at the normal time, but Barb fixed our schedules so that we could be let out an hour earlier than normal, since it is just Jerret and I this week (everyone else is in Steamboat, CO at Junior Olympics). I finished Macbeth in English today, and next class I am going to begin "School for Scandal."

For dinner, Mike took us to the Outback, where it was ten-cent Tuesday (ten cent buffalo wings). Jerret and I had about twenty wings each, and Mike had about ten. It was a lot of fun, and the wings were great.

Tomorrow we are skiing with Richie since Bruce and Dee are in Steamboat with everyone else.

Up to Lake Placid

This morning we skied with Dee and we did the same extension drills that we did yesterday. We only skied until 11 AM because we have Eastern Championships this weekend, and for some us Junior Olympics next week. It was a melow morning.

We only had one class today, because we had to leave for Lake Placid at 2:30. After school we ate at Zoe's Double Hex in Manchester.

It took us about two and a half hours to get to Lake Placid. I did my homework in the van the entire way up so that I would not have any to do this weekend.

For dinner we went to a pizza place in town called Mr. Mike's. It was pretty tasty.

The list for Junior Olympics still has not been updated from yesterday, so I am still 5 spots out.

Official training starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM tomorrow. It should be lots of fun.

5 Away

Today we skied with Bruce. We split our time between skiing and jump training. Schunk got his d-spin legally qualified, so he will be throwing it this weekend at Eastern Championships. I worked my 360 X Spread and on my Back X.

In the afternoon I had a Chemistry test. It went really well. I think I did great. In Geometry I worked with Brendan on this Mathematical Logic project that I have to do for my teacher at my school in NYC.

After finishing Geometry with Brendan, Schunk came up to me and told me that I was currently the 5th alternate for Junior Olympics. I was pretty stoked. Registration ends tomorrow, and there are still about 7 people who have not responded. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

For dinner, Mike made ravioli, which was fine. However he still has not gotten a new bottle for the water cooler, and all that was left to drink was orange juice. Orange juice + ravioli = a bad experience.

After spending nearly a month without it, Jerret finally got his computer fixed today. He is still missing some programs, but it works fine for now.

Extension

Today was the first day back on the regular schedule. Dee skied with us for the first time in about two weeks. We didn't do any jump training; instead we worked on endurance. Dee wants us to be in shape for Eastern Championships and for some of us Junior Olympics.

We skied on World Cup all morning. Dee wanted us to focus on absorption and full extension, while retaining proper upper body posture and skiing fast. I learned quickly that for me, I had to slow down to speed up. Once we got the hang of what Dee was trying to teach us, I think everyone made a big improvement.

In the afternoon I had an in-class essay on Oedipus Rex. I think I did really well on it.

Mike made Chicken Parmesan for dinner. It wasn't that bad, it is one of the better meals that he makes.

I have been working on my 360 X Spreads all week, and this is what it looks like.

Community Service

This morning the A team skied with John Witt. We skied a couple of runs and the went to the jump on World Cup that we had set-up a couple of days ago. I dialed in my 360 Xs all morning. I didn't fall a single time. I am planning to throw it at Eastern Championships.

Schunk and Eitan worked on their D-spins; they seem to be coming along really well. They seem to be having some issues differentiating their tricks between Cork 720 and D-spin.

In the afternoon I took out a bunch of B team kids and I coached them on their 360s. I got Jerret's little brother Jackson to land a couple of his. It was a lot of fun. I got some community service credits out of it too.
